Armenia is included in the list of top 20 countries with tourism growth

Armenia is included in the top twenty countries with the fastest growing tourism. This is evidenced by the studies of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).

According to World Tourism Organization (WHO) statistics, in 2019 the number of foreign trips reached 1.5 billion, which is 4% more than in 2018.

France remains one of the most visited countries with more than 90 million visitors. Then comes Spain with 83.8 million visits.

In 2019, there was a significant increase in visitors to Myanmar (40.2%), Puerto Rico (31.2%) and Iran (27.9%), citing the People's Party of Armenia (PPA).

The following in the list are Uzbekistan, Montenegro, Egypt, Vietnam, the Philippines, Maldives, Bahamas and Qatar.

Armenia with a growth of 14.4% takes 12th place.

The list also includes Azerbaijan (17th with 11.4% growth) and Kazakhstan (20th with 10% growth).

Earlier, RA Minister of Economy Tigran Khachatryan stated that Armenia in 2019 has become a more attractive destination for tourists from Russia, Georgia and Iran.

It should be noted that Armenia is expecting many tourists in 2020 as well, since January the European Ryanair and Wizz Air European launchers have started operating in the republic.
